Project Materials
The Five Chemicals Study evaluated many diverse, often application-specific, criteria to assess each substitution. Therefore, the final report did not rank order alternatives in terms of feasibility, rather it presented factual information to help organizations understand the tradeoffs between different alternatives so that they may make better decisions for their particular applications.
The Institute intended to produce an on-time, objective, transparent, and useful report for the legislature in June 2006, which would also be available to industry and the public.
Project documents, including spreadsheets showing all uses of the five chemicals, presentations from stakeholder meetings, and the study methodology, were posted on the Institute's web site throughout the study.
