Measuring Progress in Toxics Use Reduction and Pollution Prevention. 1996.

TURI Technical Report No. 30. Under the Massachusetts Toxics Use Reduction Act (TURA) industrial facilities have been reporting on their use of toxic chemicals and generation of hazardous byproduct (wastes) since 1990. This study was designed to develop and test a methodology for measuring toxics use reduction (TUR) progress in the Commonwealth and to apply this methodology to the collected data. Results indicate that progress is being made in reducing toxic chemical use and the generation of toxic byproducts.
