Includes compliance assistance and on-site technical support to reduce toxics use, improve energy efficiency and conserve water and other resources. Sectors focus on traditional and evolving Massachusetts economy: electronics, metal finishing, life sciences, medical device and other emerging, high-growth industries by providing pre-permitting and other assistance. |

Toxics Use Reduction Planners AssociationA professional membership organization dedicated to maintaining a high standard of integrity and professional practice for Toxics Use Reduction Planners (TURPs). A TURP is an environmental, safety, and/or process professional that has passed a uniform certification exam developed by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and has a few years of relevant education and experience. Once certified by DEP, TURPs can organize, prepare, write, and/or manage, but more importantly certify toxics use reduction plans for Massachusetts companies that are required to report under the Massachusetts Toxics Use Reduction Act (TURA). |
