US EPA TRI/TURA RY-2012 Compliance Assistance Workshops

For business owners, operators, consultants, engineers

US EPA, Region 1, in conjunction with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection and the Massachusetts Office of Technical Assistance, is providing a series of Toxic Release Inventory/Toxic Use Reduction Act Compliance Assistance Workshops in locations throughout Massachusetts. These free workshops are designed for the experienced TRI reporter but require registration by emailing Nicholas Leonardi.  

New TRI reporters should complete the TRI training modules available on the EPA web site before attending the workshops.

 6 CEU units will be provided by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection.

9:00-10:45          Update on EPCRA Tier2, GHS SDS implications, & RMP compliance obligation. TRI: What’s new, late reporting, common data quality errors & TRI enforcement.           

10:45-11:00         Break

11:00-12:00         High Hazard Substances Update (Formaldehyde and Hexavalent Chromium)  and TURA Case Studies – (MA OTA)

12-1:00               Lunch (on your own)

1:00-2:00             TURA Planning and Reporting Errors and Omissions Overview – (Mass DEP) 

2:00-2:15             Break

2:15-4:00             eDEP TURA – (Mass DEP)

4:00                    Session Concludes

Dwight Peavey, US EPA TRI Program Coordinator, will present the EPA portion of the workshops. Walter Hope and Suzi Peck from MA DEP and Scott Fortier from MA OTA will be presenting the TURA portion of the workshops.

Please note the joint EPA TRI/TURA Workshops are day long (8:30 AM-4:00 PM)   

Registration is at 8:30 AM.  Presentations will begin promptly at 9:00 AM.

TRI - Made Easy Web-based (TRI-MEweb) application for Reporting Year 2012
The RY 2012 version of TRI-MEweb is now available for facilities to begin preparing and submitting TRI forms for RY 2012. The TRI-MEweb application is EPA's preferred method for reporting chemical releases under the TRI Program. TRI-MEweb allows facilities to file a paperless report, significantly reducing data errors and allowing instant receipt confirmation of submissions.
