Shawmut Corporation, developer of high-performance composites, reduced the use of hundreds of thousands of pounds of TCE (trichloroethylene) and generation of associated waste. In 2013, the company completely eliminated all use of the chemical by converting to a hot-melt adhesive process. Combined, these projects have saved the company $1,750,000 annually.
