Denture tabs Chemical name:Contains Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), Sodium perborate, and Potassium monopersulfate
Inhalation: May cause irritation of the respiratory tract.
Ingestion: May cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
Skin Contact: May cause irritation to the skin.
Eye Contact: May cause irritation to the eyes.
Chronic Exposure: Local use in the mouth may cause chemical burns and retraction of the gums. Exposure to high doses of sodium perborate may cause adverse liver and kidney effects.
Acute Effects: No data
Aggravation of Pre-existing Conditions: Sodium monopersulfate causes skin irritation in guinea pigs. It also releases histamine in rats and guinea pigs suggesting the possibility for allergic reaction.

What does this mean?

Do not drink denture tab solution or eat the tabs themselves. Avoid getting solution in your eyes or on your skin. If exposure to eyes occurs, flush immediately with large quantities of water. Contact your physician if irritation continues or worsens.
