A: Barriers to Sustainable Practices
The Office of Technical Assistance (OTA) will lead an open discussion on what might stand in the way of more comprehensive adoption of the array of available sustainable practices. What keeps companies from implementing more toxics use and solid waste reduction, and using resources, such as water and energy, more efficiently? Have they already done as much as is feasible? Is it that they don’t have the time to look into them sufficiently? Are there barriers - technical, informational, economic, institutional - that government could help to address?
B: Facility Maintenance Using Biobased Products:
Opportunities to Green Your Company Recently the Surface Solutions Laboratory (SSL) has been contracted by the Veterans Administration to evaluate biobased replacement products for floor stripping and hard surface cleaning. Successful laboratory tested products were then piloted at the Bedford VA Medical Center and compared against products currently in use at that facility. Find out how this work and other janitorial applications can be adapted to cleaning your facility to improve your image as a Green facility.
Concurrent Afternoon Sessions from 1:15 PM to 4:15 PM Choose One
