Resource Conservation Training Day 1
THE TOXICS USE REDUCTION INSTITUTE (TURI)
presents two Resource Conservation Planning Continuing Education Opportunities
Resource Conservation Planning Basics – Day One: Applying TUR Methods to Resource Conservation Planning
December 6, 2007 and repeated January 10, 2008
This day-long workshop will familiarize planners with the objectives, methods and requirements of Resource Conservation (RC) Planning options available under the new 2006 TURA Amendments. This course will fulfill six of the 12 credits anticipated to be required in order to certify a RC Plan. The other 6 credits may be in any asset area of resource conservation. TURI and OTA will be offering additional technical sessions on the various asset area options, e.g., energy conservation, throughout the year. Planners who are interested in certifying RC plans, should seriously consider attending this training. This course is a very specific CE area for RC planning, and while this won’t be the only opportunity, there will likely only be a few.

Resource Conservation Asset Specific – Day Two: Technical Options and Asset Specific Planning
January 24, 2008
This 6-hour workshop will be comprised of four 3-hour asset specific training sessions: energy efficiency, water conservation, reducing toxics in products/articles, and reducing materials in solid waste. Each asset specific session will incorporate technical options information, as well as planning requirements specific to that asset area. Participants may choose two of the four sessions to attend. Attendance at two of the asset specific sessions, and the day long Resource Conservation Planning Basics workshop complete the anticipated 12 credit requirement in order to certify a RC plan.
