Join us as we learn about the innovative ways Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials has found to significantly reduce its energy consumption.
Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials (RHEM) uses traditional energy efficiency/energy conservation measures such as installation of efficient lighting, automated office space controls and variable frequency drives to reduce its overall consumption. An exciting opportunity associated with its toxics use reduction efforts – green chemistry-based process modifications to one of its production lines, along with the use of in-line condensers – significantly reduced the need for thermal oxidation of air emissions in its pilot plant. RHEM estimates the annual savings from this project to be 16,000 MMBTU of natural gas, and almost 1000 metric tons of CO2 equivalents in green house gases.
