Technology alternatives and methods to reduce toxins can build competitiveness and security while reducing risks both to workers and the environment. Innovative green and sustainable production tools and methods are continuously emerging in both industry and from academic laboratory research. TURI's Industry Research Program offers workshops, grants, and training to make the connection between industry needs and university research.
New science and technology in nanotechnology, green chemistry, toxicity and risk assessment, and materials engineering are supported through grants, discussion groups and networks, and research and demonstration. Also see the TURI Laboratory for safer alternatives in surface cleaning
Management tools include facility planning for toxics use reduction, and environmental management systems
