As Training and Education Specialist, Peter prepares workshops and training materials to inform and build skills for environmental managers, enabling them to take advantage of the new planning opportunities in Resource Conservation and Environmental Management Systems afforded by the 2006 TURA amendments. Peter has developed and delivered training in such subjects as toxics use reduction, chemical safety, wastewater license preparation, water quality sampling and analysis, hazardous waste management, and industrial and municipal stormwater management.
Peter has been a Toxics Use Reduction Planner since 1999, and has extensive industrial and municipal environmental health and safety (EHS) experience. As an EHS manager and consultant, he has managed environmental compliance and toxics use reduction for semiconductor, printed circuit, and fiber optic manufacturers. Peter also has significant experience in water and wastewater treatment, including potable water system design, ultrapure water production, and industrial water recycling, and has managed the installation and operation of groundwater remediation projects throughout the Northeast US. He has undergraduate degrees in Marketing Management and Chemistry, and holds Masters degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering and Public Policy. Peter is also a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager.
