Byproduct Reduction Index (BRI)
The change in the amount of byproduct generated relative to the amount of production. The BRI is calculated as follows: BRI = 100 x (A-B) / A where A = (Byproduct quantity in the base year) / (number of units of product produced in the base year) and B = (Byproduct quantity in the reporting year) / (number of units of product produced in the reporting year)
