The Central Massachusetts Business Environmental Network (CMBEN) in partnership with the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce present Chemical Safety and Climate Change Resiliency.

The following are the speakers and the topics they will present on:

• Tiffany Skogstrom of the Massachusetts Office of Technical Assistance will demonstrate a new online mapping tool to identify chemical users in relation to climate change-related vulnerability factors such as flood, hurricane, and environmental justice zones. Climate change weather events pose a significant threat to communities where large toxic chemical users reside when critical infrastructure and services fail or are damaged. Learn about the importance of building toxics use reduction into your emergency preparedness and planning.

• Joy Onasch of Toxic Use Reduction Institute will highlight TURI’s both business and industry grants for the FY20 fiscal year in a variety of sectors. The projects will be presented to help inform CMBEN members of potential TUR grant projects for them to consider in the future.

Networking will be from 9:00 to 9:30 and the program will begin after that. To register, e-mail Isabelle Lavigne from Irwin Engineers at [email protected], or call her at (508) 653- 8007 ext. 10. Although there is no cost for this meeting, seating is limited, so please register soon, and no later than September 3rd.
