Fall 2020 TUR Planner Continuing Education Virtual Conference

NOTE: Last minute registrations need to contact Brenda Wilson (brenda@turi.org) or Stacie Caldwell (Stacie_Caldwell@uml.edu) for any questions or problems.  Pam Eliason will not be available the day of the conference to assist with any questions or problems. 

In an effort to provide TUR Planners with access to continuing education credit, the TURA Program has created a series of four 90-minute sessions with a total of up to 12 credits awarded.

November 5, 2020 - Thursday  

 9:00 - 10:30 AM (90-minute session) Successful TUR Implementation Stories

Speakers: Shuai Duo (Riverdale Mills), Dan Lopes (CD Aero), Lee Reeves (River Street Metal Finishing), Greg Morose (TURI), Joy Onasch (TURI), Terry McCormack (Umicore)

Massachusetts companies use the TUR Planning process to identify and assess opportunities to reduce their use of toxic chemicals. This session will highlight a few recent examples of successful implementation followed by a panel discussion about their experiences and lessons learned.

Economics Evaluations 102: Building a Stronger Case for Implementation

Speaker: Rob Sarnie (WPI) 

In our spring virtual conference we were refamiliarized with economic evaluation methods for TUR Planners.  In this session we will dive deeper into some of the tools and tips Planners can use to help make a stronger strategic business case for implementation of TUR methods. It will also help you after your business case is approved by giving more tips to set up, track, analyze variances, and adjust your critically approved costs appropriately to achieve success for your case.

These are Zoom online meetings with individual login information. You will receive the Zoom registration links after you have selected and registered for the webinar(s) here.

Please note that, in addition to this registration, you will be required to register through Zoom for each individual session. Information about that registration will be provided after you register here. 


The TURA Program has approved a reduced fee for these webinars: $35 per session for TURA Filers, and $50 per session for Non Filers. When you register, be sure to select the amount that matches the number of sessions you are registering for and whether you are a filer (limited practice planner) or non filer (general practice planner).

Conference fees can be paid online using a credit card; scroll to the bottom of this email for links. Note that the registration link is separate from the payment links.

No cancellations or refunds are available for these sessions.

TUR Planner Credits: 

MassDEP has approved these sessions for double credits. Each session is worth 3 TUR Planner continuing education credits. To earn the full 12 credits, participants must attend all four sessions. To receive credit, you MUST register, attend and participate in the session(s), and you must reply to the follow-up survey you will receive once the session has ended.  If you do not satisfy these criteria, MassDEP may not award you credit for that session.
