The Toxics Use Reduction Institute offers the TUR Planning course annually to train professionals responsible for assuring a company's TUR planning is done in good faith and yields new opportunities to create a more efficient and sustainable operation.

About the blended (on-line and in-class sessions) format: This course begins with attending a required kick-off group web meeting on Tuesday, August 29 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM. For the next month, class participants will work on the 11 on-line training modules and discussions at their own pace. Participants who have not completed the on-line discussions, exercises and quizzes will not be admitted to the in-class sessions.

Four in-class sessions (September 28 and October 5, 12, and 26) follow. The course features a real world example that participants work on together (both in and out of class) to create a TUR Plan which will be presented to a mock management team.

How to Register for this Course
To register online see Step 1 below.  To register by mail, complete the application form and return it by the due date. Make checks payable to "UMass Lowell" for the full amount of the course fee, which must be received prior to the first day of the on-line portion of the course. Your registration will not be complete and your space will not be held until payment and registration forms are received. Applicants admitted for this course will receive information prior to the class start date with specific course information, including login credentials and directions to the facility.

Register early! Class size is limited and the course usually fills up. Applicants are registered on a first come/first served basis with a completed registration. Please check our website calendar at www.turi.org.

Registration Fee:  If your facility has ever filed a TURA Form S, your fee is $630.00.  (MassDEP Facility I.D.# required for the lower rate).  If your facility has not filed a TURA Form S, your fee is $2,000.00. Registration fee includes materials, lunch, and breaks for each day. 

Participation in the on-line portion of the class only is now available. It is important to note that choosing the on-line only portion of the course does not qualify you to become a certified planner.  The fee for on-line only is $500.00.

Deadline:
Registrations are due by August 23, 2017. Registration is first come/first served. A confirmation packet - including login information for the on-line portion and directions to the training facility for the class - will be mailed to you upon successful enrollment.

Cancellation Policy:  Cancellations must be received by August 23, 2017 (3 business days) before the first day of class.

Cancellations:  Cancellations received by August 23, 2017 will receive a credit that may be used for a future TURI-sponsored event.

There will be no credit for cancellations received less than 3 business days prior to the start of the course.
