ChemGenes Reducing Solvent Use by 70 Percent

ChemGenes Corporation in Wilmington received a $15,000 incentive grant from TURI to help offset the costs for a new solvent recovery and recycling system and demonstrate the new system with other companies. ChemGenes expects to reduce the use of hexane and ethyl acetate by 27,000 pounds or 70 percent annually and save money from reduced chemical purchases and waste disposal expenses.

ChemGenes demonstrated the new system in June and November. The company shared actual operational data that was collected from May through September. Download the case study in the right-hand column to read the results.
