The fall 2024 Toxics Use Reduction (TUR) conference will take place over three days in November and will cover topics from global chemicals policies to safer practices in manufacturing to emerging technologies to successes in implementing toxics use reduction. Up to 19 continuing education credits are available for application toward TUR planner recertification.
Join us over three days to discover policies, technologies and examples of success in reducing use of toxic chemicals. Cost per session.
Learn how to research the impacts of various chemicals on human health and the environment.
Toxic chemicals can contribute to cancer, asthma, neurological disease, birth defects, and other health problems. They can also be hazardous to the environment.
This 2-hour workshop covers the basics of toxicology and chemical hazards, the strengths and limitations of the safety data sheet (SDS), and explores tools to research hazards and find safer options. This course is free and suitable for anyone, including students, industry professionals, academic researchers, and Massachusetts toxics use reduction (TUR) planners.
- When: Friday October 11, 2024 from 10 a.m. – Noon
- Where: TURI Offices – Boott Mills West, 126 John Street Suite 14 (second floor), Lowell, MA 01852
Please bring a laptop to the workshop so you may participate in activities, or contact us if you need to borrow one. Additionally, if you are a TUR planner, attendance at this workshop may be used to apply for up to two continuing education credits with MassDEP.
