TURI offers a range of courses for both professionals and the general public who are interested in reducing the use of toxic chemicals and promoting safer alternatives. The Toxics Use Reduction Planner Certification Course, prepares qualified professionals to become certified Toxics Use Reduction (TUR) Planners recognized by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP). Certified planners play a critical role in helping companies identify safer materials, improve efficiency, and reduce toxic chemical use at the source.

Webinars

TURI hosts webinars throughout the year, offering timely insights from experts on key topics such as chemicals of concern, regulatory updates, safer alternatives, and emerging technologies. These sessions also feature case studies from companies successfully implementing toxics use reduction (TUR) strategies.

Conferences

TURI hosts an in-person spring conference and a virtual fall conference to provide ample opportunity for learning and networking.

The content of our conferences typically focuses on topics related to safer alternatives to toxic substances, relevant chemicals policies, chemical hazards, pollution prevention, resource conservation and drivers for change.

Our next in-person conference is currently being planned for mid-April 2026. Stay tuned for more information on keynote, content and networking opportunities.

Demonstration Sites

TURI partners with companies that are developing innovative strategies for toxics use reduction and resource conservation. Together, we host on-site demonstrations to showcase novel technologies.
