Webinar: Evaluating Chemicals of Concern

October 8, 2025

Date: October 8, 2025
Time: 9:00 – 10:30 AM ET
Location: Online (Zoom)

Join us for a 90 minute webinar with updates on prioritizing chemicals of concern

The Massachusetts TURA Science Advisory Board works hard each year to evaluate chemicals of concern to Massachusetts to determine whether new chemicals should be listed (or delisted) for reporting or designated as higher hazard substances. In this webinar we will learn about the SAB review process for evaluating chemicals and will discuss current work on aryl phosphate esters, carbon nanotubes and carbon nanofibers and quaternary ammonium compounds.

We will also be joined by two experts in identifying and prioritizing chemicals of concern for global policy and industry restrictions. Dr. Pushkar Shejwalkar from ZDHC will discuss their “roadmap to zero” and the restricted materials list they maintain for the textile industry. Jerker Ligthart from ChemSec, will present the evolution and future of the SIN (substitute it now) list of highly hazardous chemicals.

This webinar has been pre-approved by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection for 3 TUR Planner CEUs. Planners must attend the webinar and complete a post-webinar survey to be eligible for these CEUs.
