TURA Environmental Management System (TURA EMS) Course

Discover how to embed toxics use reduction goals into your existing environmental management system (EMS). Companies can ensure they focus on toxic chemicals as part of their overall sustainability goals, and learn how to create a TURA EMS, which requires that covered toxics are considered significant aspects of the facility’s operations.
This course is offered over two days. Required elements of an EMS are explored in detail on the first day. The second day focuses on examples of an EMS in practice and is typically hosted at a Massachusetts facility.

For TURA filers and MA TUR Planners:
The 2006 amendments to TURA enabled eligible companies to embed TUR goals into their existing EMS, in lieu of creating a separate TUR plan. The TURA EMS certification course provides initial training for EMS professionals and TUR planners who wish to certify TURA EMS progress reports. TURA EMS professionals are required to apply for initial certification and maintain continuing education credits.
