TUR Planner Certification Course

Become Part of the Solution - Become a TUR Planner!

Toxics Use Reduction (TUR) Planners help their companies find opportunities to be more sustainable, save money and stay ahead of regulations. Join this expanding field of safer substitution professionals!

The TUR Planner certification course is offered every year, providing over 48 hours of core instruction. Skills and tools covered are valuable in any production or service context in any industry.

Why Become a TUR Planner?

TUR Planners Roxann Carstensen and her daughter Cierra MacLeod explain the benefits of planning for their clients.

The course typically begins in mid-August with the 6-week asynchronous online portion, which covers the theory and regulations in detail. Participants review narrated presentations, complete and submit assignments and participate in thought-provoking discussions. Following successful completion of the online portion of the course participants gather in person for four day-long classes (over the course of a month) to put the theory to practice, hearing from veteran planners about best practices, and working together on a practicum based on an actual manufacturing operation.
