Once certified, Toxics Use Reduction Planners are required to take continuing education courses to stay current on technical and managerial tools for reducing the use of toxics.
TURI presents Continuing Education Conferences in the spring and fall of each year. These day-long conferences vary from event to event, presenting in-depth training on topics related to safer alternatives to toxic substances, pollution prevention, resource conservation, chemicals policy, and toxicology. If you have topic ideas for future conferences, please contact Pam Eliason.
Like all of our events, Continuing Education Conferences are open to anyone, as these trainings can be beneficial to government officials, company executives, community leaders, and university personnel. Visit our calendar for upcoming training events.
Toxics Use Reduction Planners can also receive Continuing Education Credit by attending outside events that are of educational value in the areas listed above. These events include the Beyond the MSDS workshop and designated webinars and onsite demonstrations of TUR. To receive credit, Planners must apply with MassDEP for pre-approval - go to the Mass DEP TUR Planner Certification page and go to the bottom section of the page for more information.
