Transene Eliminates Its Use of PFAS and Saves Money. 2023.

Transene Company, a manufacturer of advanced materials for the electronics industry, wanted to find viable alternatives to PFAS use in semiconductor manufacturing in response to customer demands for PFAS-free products. Funded by a TURI research grant, Prof. Ramaswamy Nagarajan's research team at UMass Lowell, working closely with Transene, identified viable safer alternatives, evaluated the alternatives for toxicity, and did performance testing.
